too……to……结构与……enough to……结构及so……that……结构的转换

1、 so that"以便，为了"，引导一个表示目的的状语从句= in order that

You must go now so that you won't be late.

2、 so ……that"因此，所以"，引导的是结果状语从句不等于 in order

that

用法:(1)“so……that"句型结构为：

so+ adj.(adv.) +that.

so+adj.+a(an)+单数n.+that

so+many(few)+复数n.+that

so+much(little)+不可数n+that

This book is so interesting that i have read itthree times这本书如此有趣，我已经看了三遍。He spoke so fast that we couldn t understand him他说得太快，我们都未能听懂他的话。

It was so hot a day that nobody wanted to doanything.天气很热，谁都不想干活。

There were so many people that we could hardlymove on。这么多人，我们简直无法继续往前走。

He has so many books that I can’t count them.他有很多书，我数也数不清。

so+ much(多) /little(少) +不可数名词+that…

There was so much food that we couldn’t eat it all.食物太多了，我们吃不完。

I have so little money that I cannot afford a car.我的钱太少，买不起车。

so…that：如此...以致于...；以便。常用于以上四个句型。

以“so...that”引导的结果状语从句可以转换成不定式的简单句,即可转换为“...enough to...”

或“...too...to”句型,但

这种转换必须符合下列条件：

1. 当主句和从句的主语一致,且that从句是肯定句时,可用“enough to do sth.”来转换.

例如：The man is so strong that he can lift the heavy box.

The man is strong enough to lift the heavy box.

He was so clever that he can understand what I siad.

He was clever enough to understand what I siad.

2. 当主句和从句的主语不一致,且that从句是肯定句时,可以用“enough for sb. to do sth.”来替换,但须注意不定式的宾语要省略.

例如：The question is so easy that I can work it out.

The question is easy enough for me to work out.

The bag is so light that he can carry it.

The bag is light enough for him to carry.

3. 当主句和从句的主语一致,且that从句是否定句时,可以用“too...to”来替换.

例如：The boy is so young that she can't dress herself.

The boy is too young to dress herself.

I was so tired that I couldn't go on with the work.

I was too tired to go on with the work.

4. 当主句和从句的主语不一致,且that从句是否定时,如果要用“too...to...”替换“so...that...”,则

用介词for引出动词不定式的逻辑主语.可以用“too...for sb. to do sth.”来替换，注意不定式的

宾语要省略。

The bag is so heavy that she can't move it.

The bag is too heavy for her to move.

It is so hot that we can't sleep.

It is too hot for us to sleep.

1.将too...to...结构转换为...enough to...结构时要注意：①enough前的形容词或副词须是too前面形容词或副词的反义词；②...enough to ...句式须用否定式；③too...to...结构有逻辑主语时,...enough to...结构也要加上逻辑主语.

例如：

She is too young to do the work.

She isn't old enough to do the work.

2.将too...to...结构转换为so...that...结构时要注意：①so...that...结构是复合句,so的后面接形容词或副词,that的后面接从句；②that后面的从句要用否定形式.例如：

She is too young to do the work.

She is so young that she can't do the work.
