Hello everybody, my name is Steve Ford and welcome to another English tips pronunciation video.

大师好,我是史蒂夫·福德,接待来到咱们的英语发音技能讲堂。

In case you don't know, this is a new series and and this is for everybody today that speaks Japanese as a first language.

以防你们不晓得,我先奉告你们,这节课是为日语母语者筹备的。

So I've taught lots of Japanese students all the way back to the

beginning of my teaching career back in Toronto.

自从我刚起头在多伦多教书的时辰起,请教过不少日本学生。

I've always had experience teaching Japanese speakers.

我有很多教日本进修者的履历。

And I have the privilege quite recently of teaching a Japanese lawyer.

近来我也有幸教过一名日本状师。

And I was able to really help her out with her pronunciation and she was getting ready to do her MA in New York.

我帮忙改正了她的发音问题,她那时正筹备去纽约攻读硕士学位。

So here are some of the things that I wanna to show you.

那末接下来我就想分享给你们一些常识点。

The first one is with "er" — there's a "r" there — and "ar".

第一个是关于“er”和“ar”的发音的——都包括有一个“r”。

So if we take the word "perk". (perk: privileges given to employees) I don't know if you know what "perk" means.

咱们以“perk”这个词为例。(perk:赐与雇员的特权;补助)我不清晰你们知不晓得“perk”的意思。

"Perk" — they are additional benefits you receive at a job.

它指你在事情中获得的除工资外的补助。

So maybe you get a job with a good company and one of the "perks" is that you get a company car — that's a good "perk".

或许你在一家好公司找到了一份事情,此中一项“分外补助”就是你能获得一辆公司分派的汽车——这“补助”很不错。

That's "perk". ("er") And then, if you get that bonus, you're going to need somewhere to "park" your car.

那就是“perk”。而当你获得了阿谁福利(车)以后呢,你就必要找个处所去泊车(park)。

"Perk" is more closed — "er".

说“perk”的时辰口腔要更方向于闭合一些。

If you want me to get more technical, we are actually saying "e" — the "e" sound like "book" plus "r".

更专业一些的说法是,咱们其实是在说“e”——听起来就像“book”加之“r”的发音。

So it's "e-r".

即“e-r”。

And then we have "park" and that's a more open "ah" sound, plus "r" — "ar".

而“park”发音时口腔要开得更大一些,是“ah”加之“r”的音——“ar”。

Can you hear the difference?

听得出区分吗?

(More examples) "hard" — "heard". "par" — "purr". So a cat doesn't "par" — no, a cat "purrs".

(更多示例)"hard"—"heard"。"par"—"purr"。猫会发出呜呜声(purr),

而不是“par”。

Can you hear the difference?

听得出区分吗?

Very important, especially if you like cats.

这很首要,特别是若是你喜好猫的话。

So here's your practice sentences, you can try these as many times as you like.

接下来是一些例句,你们可以以本身的环境看要操练跟读几回。

"I heard the perky people at the park." "I heard the perky people at the park." "I heard the perky people at the park." "Perky" in this case, by the way, means "lively", "full of energy." "I heard the perky people at the park." "I heard the perky people at the park." Let's try it a little faster: "I heard the perky people at the park." So I really enjoyed sharing that tip with you from my personal experience.

“I heard the perky people at the park.”(我听到了公园里那活跃的人声。)在这个例子中,“perky”就是“lively”(活泼活跃的)的意思,即“布满能量”。咱们再试着说得更快一点:“I heard the perky people at the park.”我很欢快能与大师分享我的这些小我履历。
